A 20-year-old man alleged to have a history of impersonating police officers and claiming to be a soldier was arrested Monday after he roamed hallways and visited classrooms at Drum Intermediate School in University Place. Pierce County sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer said Wednesday that the man isn't connected to the recent series of fast-food restaurant robberies by two men impersonating police officers. The man, spotted by school staff members, was wearing a military-style Kevlar vest with a folding  

The men have been in a vehicle equipped with red and blue police-type lights.  

A Pierce County sheriff's deputy was not injured over the weekend when another driver bumped his patrol car, forcing it up the wire anchoring a power pole to the ground.  

There was an arrest warrant out for the man shot and killed Saturday by Pierce County sheriff's deputies after a chase in Puyallup.  

A man driving erratically was shot and killed by Pierce County Sheriff's deputies Saturday afternoon after the man attempted to ram their patrol cars. A Pierce County deputy was in the area and saw the man zoom by him at speeds estimated at 70-80 mph, said Det. Ed Troyer with the Pierce County Sheriff's Department. The deputy attempted to pull the driver over, but he continued to flee, clipping several cars as he sped away.
